    backyard graduation kegger at friend's... i barely registered his presence, though we were introduced. then he found me alone at the bar of the local fire company. (friend i was supposed to meet showed up hours later.) he tried talking to me and got nowhere for a good fifteen minutes, and then... ha! he made me laugh. (he was this close to giving up and walking away)
    six months later i proposed.

      ...bed. Really. I met him in my bed. He came down with my brother in law and I was at the local collage watching Cabaret. My step mom told him he could sleep in my bed, and when I came home and crawled into bed, there he was. lol. We stayed up and talked all night. It was like we had known each other for years. We've been sharing a bed every since.

      Oh! However, we only became friends then. About a year later we became roommates, then both moved again after about 3.5 years, but stayed close friends, and started dating about another 2 years after that. We've only been married for 2 years now, but we've been friends for 10.

    cafeterium in high school...my freshman year. he said we talked, and i hugged him. i dont remember it all. i actually dont remember meeting him until the following summer...when my boyfriend was his best friend. yes, he hit on me anyway...now we've been together 20 years w/ 5 kids...

    ...restaraunt Bar. She was the afternoon bartender, and I had just moved to town. I remember sitting at the bar, eating a plate of enchiladas, watching some show on white-water rafting that happened to be on. I tried to break the ice by asking her if she was into rafting, which she wasn't, but we talked a little bit anyway. I'm not sure if I got her name then or if I got it later, but I ate dinner there every day for the next two weeks just to see her. Eventually, she stopped me on my way out and gave me her phone number. We were married 18 months later.

    Waitresses at that restaraunt, and better story tellers than me, have been telling versions of that story ever since. We've been married just over six years :-)

    My wife and I first met when I was in band and she was in the color gaurd in high school! :D

      art class in high school. I talk all the time and he was very shy. The teacher put us at the same table (hoping I'd quit talking maybe?) and he finally, sort-of, asked me on a date. We've been married for over 12 years and have 2 kids.
      The art teacher married my stepsister's brother-in-law, by the way, so I still see her once in a while. She still smiles about how she "hooked us up".. :)

        Heh, that's rad! Glad to hear we're not the only long-term couple that met in high school! We've only been married for four years, but have been together since 1993. We were the opposite- my Missus is the shy one and I was the class jackass who made her laugh all the time. However, I was still very timid about asking her on our first date! Especially after she answered me: "Maybe, I'll think about it" or something to that effect! D'oh!

    Well it was 6 years ago tomorrow that my wife and I met in Iowa City Park in Iowa City Iowa, September 25 1999. We were there for ISCANic XVI, an annual get together of the users of the Iowa Student Computer Association's BBS at whip.isca.uiowa.edu. I was a senior at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and she had graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the spring of that year.
